Albanian honey is very good and sells for very little, because almost none of it can prove what it is. Chestnut honey from Tropojë and sugar-fed honey from a warehouse look identical in a jar on a market table. Bletë is a cooperative of 19 beekeepers across Tropojë, Has and Kukës producing four single-origin honeys: chestnut, wild sage, linden and high-mountain polyfloral. Every jar carries a code that resolves to the hive group it came from, the altitude, the harvest week, and the lab analysis for that batch — pollen profile and HMF, done by an accredited lab in Tirana. This is not a marketing gimmick. It is the specific documentation that European specialty buyers require and that no small Albanian producer currently provides, which is why we sell in bulk at 3 EUR a kilo while single-origin chestnut honey retails in Germany at 18 EUR for 500 g. 4,500,000 ALL funds: the lab testing programme for two full seasons, a shared extraction and bottling facility in Bajram Curri that meets EU hygiene standards, labelling and the traceability system, and the organic certification audit that takes three years to complete and which we are starting now. Backing tiers: 6,000 ALL is a 500 g jar of your chosen origin from the 2026 harvest. 19,900 ALL is the four-origin tasting set. 90,000 ALL adopts a hive group for a year — you get 4 kg across the season plus the full analysis for your hives.

63%. Two beekeepers from Pukë have asked to join for the 2026 season, which would take us to 21. We are saying yes, on the condition they run the same testing regime from day one.

First lab results are back from the 2025 chestnut harvest. Pollen analysis confirms 82% chestnut across all seven hive groups tested, and HMF is well inside the specialty threshold. Full reports are in the gallery, unedited.

The Bajram Curri facility lease is signed. It is an old dairy building, which means the drainage and the tiled walls are already right for food processing.
